Jimmy (aka Jim Schultz) has been active on the Milwaukee music scene since the mid 60’s, with the groups such as the Castletones, the Nobles, the Chasers, Allen & Aubrey, and the James Aubrey Trio.
After earning his Fine Arts degree in the 70’s, Jim teamed up with Larry – first as a member of the Larry Lynne Group and later as a “second coming” of the Skunks. The addition of Pat on drums turned into “Opera”, until some guy named Andrew Lloyd Weber stole their idea.
The 80’s saw Jim as a member of the regionally popular “U.S. Choice”. When some group members moved out of state, Jim expanded his efforts in another area of interest – music education – where he added band programs and music festivals to his already extensive teaching schedule.
In the 90’s Jim & Larry got back to together, in “Bootlegger”. Nominations for several WAMI awards followed, including one for String Player of the Year in 2001. The addition of Jon on bass & vocals completed the mix.
Recently Jim has had opportunities to work in another field he loves – theatre. In addition to writing and directing a children’s musical, he has worked musical shows with the Racine Theatre Guild, Archangel Productions, Wisconsin Lutheran College, Marquette University, and the Concord Chamber Orchestra.
Jim is looking forward to using his experience to help make the show a success!
